I had my baby shower on Saturday, October 17th. My sister-in-law and my Mom hosted my shower and made it very special. Our baby received lots of nice gifts and we had a blast playing games at the shower. My best friend Jenny picked the closest length of tape as far as how big aroound I am. Jenny knows me so well! This was a special weekend because Jenny, Jeff, Mason and Ms. Kathy all came from Columbia, SC to spend the weekend with us and attend my shower. Here are just a few photos from my shower.

The Home Stretch!
Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Well I officially start my last trimester tomorrow (8/28/09). David and I have been extremely busy getting everything ready for Baby Steven. We have the nursery all painted and all of the furniture in the nursery. We are doing the Disney theme in his nursery. We are going this Saturday to Images From The Womb in Suwanee to have a 4D ultrasound. We are very excited about this and can't wait to share some pictures with all of you. My pregnancy has been absolutely wonderful so far so I am hoping that trend will continue. At our last appointment the dcotor actually told us that Steven is measuring a little bit large for as far along as he is. For those of you that want to know we are registered at Babies R Us and at Target. A friend of ours will be doing a couples shower for us in October so we are looking forward to seeing all of you there. Invitations will be going out in September so watch your mailbox! I will post some pictures this weekend after our ultrasound on Saturday so be on the look out!

It's A Boy!

Well, it's official, we are having a boy. We had our ultrasound Monday morning and received our exciting news. So now me and David can get busy decorating the nursery for our little baby boy. He is still due to arrive on November 20th. His name is going to be Steven Charles Smith. The next 4 months are going to be so busy as we prepare for the arrival of our little angel. I will post an ultrasound picture this weekend.

17 Weeks
Sorry its been a while since I made an entry but I promise to get better about that. We had our 17 week appointment on June 15th and everything is great! July 6th is the big day where we find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I can't believe that is has been 17 weeks already. November 20th will be here before I know it. September is going to be a very busy month for us because we are takingh 3 different classesd and going on our tour of the hospital. We go next week to meet our pediatrician and to go on a tour. We will be registering in July after we find out what we are having. We will probably register at Babies R Us & Wal-Mart. I will post some more pictures when we have the big ultra sound on July 6th.

13 Weeks Along

Today we actually got to hear Baby Smith's heartbeat for the first time. Baby Smith's heart is beating 149 beats per minute. We saw the doctor yesterday and he told us I should begin to feel my first movements when I am round 20 weeks, so about 7 more to go. Our next appointment is June 15 which I will be 17.5 weeks then so I am hoping the doctor can tell us what we are having then. If not we will have to wait until our 21 week appointment. We have already registered for the 3 classes that we will be taking in September: Childbirth Preparation, Infant Safety & CPR, and Breastfeeding. So needless to say September will be a very busy month for us. The doctor said that our baby is growing at an excellent rate and he or she is just the size that they should be at this point. As of this week our baby is about the size of a medium shrimp, getting bigger and longer every day.

First Regular Dr. Appointment
Last Friday (4/17/09) was our first regular doctor appointment. Baby Smith's heart is still too small for us to be able to hear it but we can definitely see it beating on the screen. Our doctor said that everything with the baby looks great. Our doctor gave me a nice goodie bag that had all kinds of important information for us and some free vitamins for me. In about 9 more weeks we will be able to tell the sex of our baby. This will be so exciting for us because then we will know what colors we can decorate the nursery in. Our doctor told us Friday that my due date is November 24th so it looks like I may be spending my Thanksgiving in the hospital but it will be well worth every minute that I am there.
